goodbye 2006!

This year ive gone through a whole lot .Ive seen a bunch of things from different perspectives, made a few overseas trips and gone for an operation. Ive met tons of new people and formed new friendships while drifting away from some others.
In February this year a relationship that I had with someone came to a standstill and over the months ive thought about it, about where I went wrong and what ive learnt from it. And ive learnt not to make decisions with haste. Especially when it comes to relationships. Its been drilled in my head that things are not going to work out. Like him, I should start thinking on practical terms rather than making decisions based on emotions. But sometimes emotions get the best of you so I still experience a roller coaster of them.
However, this is what ive always wanted to say. Ashley, I still care about you, more than you’ll ever know.

Putting that aside I made 2 wonderful trips this year. First to Dubai and then again to India- both holidays for totally different purposes.
Dubai was amazing. My parents had told me wonderful stories about the lives they had lead in dubai for the amount of years that they had resided there. It was the first experience I had traveling alone and stopping over at Bahrain ( a conservative country in the middle east) for 2 hours,… and trust me I was REALLY scared because I didn’t know my way around. I stayed with my cousin and uncle for 2 weeks at 2 different places and got to see both sides of dubai both rural and urban. The deserts are amazing.

The next was India in September. I went there with about 14 other school mates for a service learning trip. We spent 2 weeks teaching kids, spending time with them, going to the school for the blind and deaf and observing the students and a whole lot more.

This year ive also formed new friendships with people and im thankful for having you guys in my life. Its become less boring haha! I miss all my friends especially my secondary school mates and a few of my poly friends whom are the closest to me.
However, some friendships have hit the rocks. I didn’t mean for it to happen but it just did. So to Navin, take care and I hope your doing fantastic, and im sorry for misleading you. Some friendships are not as strong as before, To khai, we were best friends during the early secondary school days but I guess its changed.

I had a quiet 18th birthday this year with a couple of close friends. Quiet but nice.I went clubbing for the first time this year and had a blast, even though dancing isn’t my thing the atmosphere is great. During the December holidays my friends and I had a clubbing marathon. Something which I did because my parents were overseas and that was the only time I could enjoy my freedom.

Personally ive been through shit this year, trying to make myself a better and wiser person, trying to deal with heaps of family problems and school. School has been tough because I lack the motivation to go. Which reminds me I still haven’t completed my PP. I bet tons of other RP students haven’t finished it too. HA!
I hope 2007 will be a much better year. A fresh start.=)

Yishun Mrt death

For a while i wondered if the gruesome pictures of the yishun mrt accident circulating on the net, were real.
I was reassured that the pictures are FAKE.

http://tamago.sg/2006/12/mrt-track-accident-part-4.html

I think mrt announcements should be revised from ''please stand behind the yellow line'' to ''please do not jump off the tracks''.

milkshake, exercise and a lil bit of mm beh

milkshake @ mos was alright. Good music,a few weird people, packed arena, free drinks, aching legs.

anyways ive been eating a lot of junk. And without any exercise i should be putting on aboutt...... another 10 kilos. great.

So today i tried to exercise a bit. (VERY BIG ACHIEVEMENT). Did about a 100 situps.50 proper ones. By the time i started to do the other 50 i got lazy and put my hands on my thighs instead of my head to carry myself up.

Im still scared of the treadmill so i SHANT go to the gym anytime soon especially the bukit gombak one!

shall religiously do 300 situps a day from tomorrow. 300 proper situps.

OH... btw was reading the mm beh thing mab invented about a year back, was so fuckin stupid man haaahaha

honestly.....

I think there is something seriously wrong with me. My mind keeps drifting places. I keep doing things wrong. Like taking the wrong side of the train, ordering the wrong food. It just keeps getting worse. I stopped thinking about stuff for a while but everything seems to have come back. I keep thinking about whats going to happen to me in the future at the rate im going. Its not as if im the most intelligent person and i dont even put in hard work to make up for that. Im ashamed at my lazy self.
Things at home are not good too.Id rather not explain

jeez....

im completely drained.
and i miss ashley because i havent seen him in so long AND the best part is hes my fcuking neighbour
ok goodnight

tell yourself

oh lord......

i was reading a girls blog and every single entry on that page was about how much he meant to her and how much she missed him and how much she was hurt, when the truth of the matter was, nothing really happened between them.
girls should stop being overly love sick and start being more practical

Presentation went well. Was so f-ing nervous cos we were presenting to the management and loads of students, mostly hungry for CE points.
Kudos to all of us for getting this WHOLE thing over and done with! Hopefully the end of the meetings and preps dont mean the end of all the 15 of us meeting and hanging out. I miss the whole bunch of guys and girls of the service learning trip =( !!!!

i LOVE MOONCAKES
AHHYUMYUMYUM

but ah some mooncakes taste like shit.. even the hotel ones.. one of my dads students got this damn nice looking box of mooncakes from some hotel in china or wad.. the texture of it is so.... karapara.. (malayalam slang for... coarse). hahahaha

Went to al ameen just now.. i never seem to get sick of that place even though i think the food sucks but the atmosphere's nice heh.. i like bukit timah uh..cos i was brought up there lah denn.
Anyways was eating and eating.. and both of us kept ordering milo lah. like one after the other we called up the guy.. "eh one milo peng..''. 5 MINUTES LATER ''eh one milo peng''. hahahaha..

anywhoo, after that went to play with lanterns, sparklers, candles and such today. was FUN ..brought back a lot of childhood memories.
We burned like i dont know 40 candles? and burned a lantern. and played with party poppers. party poppers are THE BOMB! ITS GOOD FOR IRRITATING THE SHIT OUT OF PEOPLE.

So we were playing with them right..... at 11 pm. Then there was this couple who kept staring at us from the second floor. Then we were thinking 'OI LOOK WAD LOOK' then looked back at them but they just kept looking. so we just kept playing lah. Then they looked summore and closed the windows. hahaha.. err..okkkkkk
So 4 of us went below their house.. armed with 4 party poppers each. took turns and popped them one at a time. Then we ran away. hahahahaha..chillddissshhh!

ok i so dont sound like an 18 year old in this post.
i need a job seriously. (ok do i sound like one now?)

Birthday Madness

5thOct
Went for Mabs bbq on the 5th. Was damn fun!Ate like pigs. Chicken wings, marshmallows dipped in chocolate cake, hotdogs,SNAILS,mutton, potatoes, corn, mushrooms filled with mozerella cheese. YUMMM
But halfway i got stomach pain so went to shit and then after that lost my appetite. hahaha
Wanted to stay until next morning but i had school, so went back with shirley and friends. 7 people squeezed in a cab after much pleading with the cab uncle. Were so scared that there were gonna be police checks so everyone ducked down when we went out of Sentosa. hahaha. the best part was, 6 of us were squeezed behind while KAMAL-whos REALLY SKINNY sat in front.
Anywhoo, reached the MRT and everyone strated to run for the last train. I on the other hand STILL CANNOT RUN so was walking behind all of them. Then kamal and i wanted to take the bus but all the last buses left a long time ago. So we rushed to the mrt and THANKFULLY there was one minute left to doors closing.

We reached jurong east mrt and were going inside the train. When we went in we saw 3 identical umbrellas hanging on the hand grips. Then we thought EH FREEBIES AH- you know the commercials sometimes which hang on them? yaa something like that.. Then i wanted to go take one. Shirley looked around the train to see if there were more, then we realised OH ITS UMBRELLAS of the indians sitting in front. hahaha.paisehh

After tt met ash and chaoed back home

I knew fahm and alll had something up their sleeves. None of us have been spared for the past 4 years of birthdates. I was right. Then khai gave me her usual 18 slaps on the back which are FRECKIN PAINFUL! still got backpain!! and then smashed cake all over me. and my hair was LET GO so it started to smell like vomit with chunks of cake stuck inside! kena chased everywhere. We got cake spilled all over the school carpets and floors. hahaha

i was doing my routine one o clock in the morning thinking about things of the past
when i realised..
god damnit!
i havent been on a date since march!
boring....

anywhoo..immunology lessons were fun! but the teacher likes to boast..
''oh i train FYP students in NTU.. here let me show you some of the journals i wrote..'' yada yada..
''here let me show you a 100 page thesis my pHD friend wrote.. look at the mistakes he made in it.. i was the marker of this paper''
riiiiiight... ok sir.. =)

but the way he teaches is powerful.. i actually studied the day after that cos i was so interested to find out more about inflammatory response.. haha
His lessons seem to be very interactive..can play x box all hahaha.. only problem is now i gotta go hunt for clothes cos he expects us to present in formal wear..

random

i think snow patrol has lovely lyrics.
and muse makes awesome music.

three little boys

The first thing that greeted us were the bright blue doors of Uthavum Ullangal. The vicinity that the children resided at was small. A room big enough to fit about 30 people was where they would eat, sleep, watch television and do their daily homework.

When we went into the room, there they were, like little angels of all shapes and sizes; sitting down in rows on straw mats laid upon cemented floors. A little boy caught our attention by standing up with much enthusiasm and waving. Ramesh was adorable. The way he talked and smiled was different from the other children. It was filled with so much gusto. Everytime i was with him i wanted to carry him and swing him round and round until i could hear his contagious laughter.

Then there were the other kids. Sham and Jinsir. Jinsir had the cutest face i had ever seen, with the word mischevious written at every nook and corner of it. After intently watching me spinning ramesh around everytime, jinsir didnt hesitate to nudge me to do it to him too. He would run in circles around the room and play catching with me.Sham was the quieter more composed one. When i looked at him i felt at ease. When i asked him to give me a little peck on the cheek he would. The perfect little boy.

At certain times during the day Ramesh and a few other kids would run up to me and point to their heads or hands and say 'vallikithu'. - painful. I couldnt do anything but just rub their hands for them or ask them to run to the elders or kala to get medicine to be applied on their wounds and cuts.Ramesh especially had big round wounds on his head and i always would wonder where they came from and what it exactly was.

Over the period of days we bonded with the little ones;playing with them, teaching them and making them happy. We taught them the hokey-pokey and they loved it. They wanted to do it everyday. And london bridge too. It was so heartwarming to see the children smile and laugh.

Towards the last day we gave everyone their own goodie bags. Complete with a toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, soap, comb, towel, powder and cotton buds. The little baby girl who never smiled when i carried her finally did. Little baby Vinodha. Kala ; a mature and sanguine fourteen year old held my hand and told us not to leave, to stay with them. And that was what made my heart break into a million pieces on the last day. That was what made me look back at everything. The life I lead in Singapore is so much better. The goals and what i wanted to learn and experience from the trip had been achieved.
